Of the People’s General and Kashmiri Awam

Hasnain proved to be a man with burning fire for humanity and justice. For decades we have not seen such a man in Indian uniform, with a human heart. Every one may or may not have been moved by Hasnain’s work or sincerity but the fact is he lived up to what he said and believed in Awam, understood the local psyche and more importantly trusted in public and never stood for public atrocities but for public comfort, convenience, empathy and worked for the much needed calm and peace tirelessly even beyond his capacity.

By any stretch of imagination it is naïve to expect that a General of Indian Army would announce “Azadi” for Kashmir but he admits that Kashmir is not a military but political problem but which the political establishment has to find a solution.

This was the distance at which Navdeep was fired at, pulling in his buddy to safety as he fell dying. There could not have been a nobler death.
