The Jammu Muslims can be broadly put into four main categories. The Gujjars and Bakerwals, who are predominantly Muslim nomadic pastoralists living in parts of Poonch, Rajouri, Doda, upper reaches of Udhampur districts, parts of Kathua and Jammu districts and form the second largest ethnic group of Muslims in J&K after Kashmiri Muslims.
