Can u imagine the protests & stone pelting if security forces would’ve abducted & killed 2 women? How are murders by terrorists acceptable?
@Raheelk Raheel Khursheed
This is the question India is asking today. In the first major strike targeting civilians this year, Lashkar-e-
Toiba militants have shot dead two sisters after dragging them out of their house in Sopore town of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Arifa and Akhtar, daughters of Ghulam Nabi Dar, were gunned down by three militants, including a Pakistani, at around 10 p.m. on Monday night at Muslim Peer in Sopore town, 52 km from here, Superintendent of Police Sopore Altaf Ahmad told PTI.
According to preliminary investigations, the three Lashkar militants barged into the house and forcibly took the girls, aged between 16 to 18 years, police said.
‘Our preliminary investigations suggest that the militants were acting as a moral brigade that wanted to punish the sisters,’ Indian Express newspaper quoted a police source as saying.
“The girls were later shot dead by the militants near the Ziarat (shrine) Rahim Sahib. One of them was shot in the left eye,” Mr. Ahmad said, adding their bodies were found near their house.
It could not be immediately ascertained why the militants had targeted the sisters.
The police officer said the local militants involved in the killing have been identified as Wasim Ganaie and Muzaffar Naikoo. Both the ultras carry a cash reward on their heads.
This was the first incident of civilian killings by militants in the Kashmir Valley this year. But it did not raise the kind of spectre that our wannabe heros raised during earlier incidents for example the Sopore Killings of 2008. Barkha Dutt tweeted that (there) Has to be unequivocal condemnation without ifs and buts for murder of the two women in Sopore.Outrage against violence cannot be selective.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has strongly condemned the killing of the two sisters, who were abducted and shot dead by suspected Lashker-e-Taiba militants on Monday.
“May Allah grant peace to the souls of Kulsooma & Rehana, their family the strength to deal with this tragedy & us strength to learn from it.” If you can’t condemn the killing of these two girls, irrespective of your political beliefs & do so without qualifying it then shame on you,” he tweeted.
We agree. The heart of the matter is spreading fear by sniffing out young lives to terrorise the masses. Killings which for obvious reasons would not be condemned by the so called protectors of Kashmir. We are also sure of the separatists skirting the issue of Kashmiris killing Kashmiris with Pakistani support as moral retribution for the sins committed by the young girls.
This tweet sums it all
Dahshatgardi…Tell me some more!!

Too tragic for words to express.
It is time to show that we care.
That we feel the pain
It is sad that the terrorists have taken the lives of innocent young girls. Let us pray god to rest their souls in peace. Terrorists always survive by creating fear in the minds of public. More than 90% of Kashniri muslims in the valley must be aware of the living economic& political situation in the POK across and deriving maximum financial& political benefits for the past 62 years or so. If it is for “Referandum” they are asking for; why can’t the Indian Govt have referandum?? Our politicians are experts in rigging the polls if necessary!! They should have done it in the valley long back& for the benefit of kashmiris and the nation too. By this time they would have joined the main stream. The policy should aim at weaning the population from the influence of separatists with all the means available to the state and central Govts with “Kid Gloves”/ carrot& stick. It appears that We are doing better in Afganistan than in our own country.
